In math we learned about greatest common factors, integers, and how to use t charts. In language arts we learned about subjects and predicates, simple subjects, and plural nouns. For social studies we learned about archaeologists, why people study history, and the ice age. For science we learned about how to cut index cards into hats and the four spheres of the earth. Some other things we did are a 6th grade flash mob to the song happy, paper blogs with our table groups, and we wrote our current events. We picked this week to do weekly recap, because Thursday was our fall recess day and we had no school so it was one less day to write about.
Last week we did many things. We had a math test, a social studies test, a reading test, and a spelling test. We did a 9-11 writing; the 9-11 writing was about a girl’s experience of being in and very close to the plane crashes. We also did ¨I am poems.¨ I am poems are little poems about us. In social studies we learned about how historians rely on archaeologists to study prehistory. For science we went to Mr. Pacak's class and took lots of notes about energy, the atmosphere, hydrosphere and more. We also read a story named ¨Just Once¨ and took a test on the story. As you can see we did a lot!
